  Yungang Grottoes 1 Day Tour        

  08:00am  Depart to Datong from Hohhot.
On the way to Datong, you can enjoy the different views between Inner Mongolia Plateau and Loess Plateau(Shan xi Province). The wildness of Inner Mongolia and the Yaodong culture of Shanxi province.

  11:00am Have lunch in Datong.
  Datong located near the Great Wall pass to Inner Mongolia, The town was founded as Píngchéng in 200 BC during the Handynasty, after the Battle of Baideng between the Han and the Huns. Pingcheng became the capital of Northern Wei from 398 AD until 494 AD, when the well-known Yungang Grottoeswere constructed during the later part of this period (460–494 AD).

  12:00am Arrive at Yungang Grottoes. Spend 2-3 hours to visit Yungang Grottoes.
  The Yungang Grottoes are ancient Chinese Buddhist temple grottoes near the city of Datong in the province of Shanxi. The site is located about 16 km west of the city of Datong, in the valley of the Shi Li river at the base of the Wuzhou Shan mountains. They are an outstanding example of the Chinese stone carvings from the 5th and 6th centuries. All together, the site is composed of 252 grottoes with more than 51,000 Buddha statues and statuettes.

  15:30pm Back to Hohhot from Datong
  18:30pm Arrive at Hohhot
